課程概述 |
The course is designed to help you understand major theories and issues concerning the information systems (IS) project/program implementation and management. We approach IS project management at the “project and program” level of analysis, focusing on project/program structures, processes, team members, and how they interact with their social environments (e.g., organizations, stakeholders, competitors). The course should inform your understanding of IS project/program management by integrating relevant theories from the organizational psychology, sociology, and cognition literatures and by demonstrating the application of these theories in IS research.
Furthermore, this course is designed for advanced students interesting in conducting research projects on IS project/program management and implementation; as a result, the basic project management issues will not be covered in this course. The focus of this course is on the “theoretical development” for IS program management. This is a very heavy reading/research intensive course. A normal student will be expected to spend at least “15 hours of readings” (excluding any other article searching, e-mails, … activities during your reading time) per week – i.e., assuming that you don’t need to do the “dictionary” for translating the English to Chinese. Fail to do so will negatively affect your grade substantially!!! |
